Of Love and Laundry

My mom has been sick for the past few days so I’ve been doing some of the housework for her. I was starting a load of laundry while she took her temperature and my brother relayed her answers to my questions, because laundry is serious business; you don’t want to screw it up. It went like this:

me: How much detergent? To line 2?

brother (for mom): yeah.

me: Do I leave the cycle on warm?

brother (for mom): no.

me: On cold?

brother (for mom): yeah.

I see my opening…

me: do you love me?

brother (as himself): No.

fail.
